Sarah Harris

Sarah Harris is a dedicated Family Lawyer who has gained experience working in this area of the law since 2007. Sarah attended the University of Wollongong completing a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Politics and a Bachelor of Laws. Her employment as a Law Clerk in a Family Law team sparked on ongoing passion and interest in that area of the Law which has continued. In the annual Doyle’s Guide to the Legal Profession, Sarah has been consistently rated by her peers as a Recommended Family Lawyer within NSW. Sarah became a Partner of Ashley White Law Firm in 2015.

Sarah specialises in all areas of Family and De Facto Relationship Law matters including parenting disputes, property settlements, Binding Financial Agreements, child support agreements, de facto law (including same sex couples) and Divorce proceedings. She has a keen interest in complex property matters which include businesses, trusts, and third parties. She is often appearing in complex parenting matters which involve allegations of family violence and other forms of abuse. Sarah has experience appearing in Arbitrated Family Law matters and mediations. Sarah has a common sense approach and she is able to work constructively with clients during one of the most stressful times in their lives.

In addition to her Family Law practice Sarah also assists clients with advice, preparation and finalisation of Adoption of children in NSW, she is one of very few lawyers in the Illawarra who practice in this area of the law. She understands the complications and issues that face parents looking to adopt a child and can advise on the best way forward, which may also include the intersect of the Family Law Act in certain cases.

Sarah has experience in appearing the Local Court, District Court and the Children’s Court however she primarily advocates for her client’s in the Federal Circuit Court and the Family Court of Canada. She has experience appearing as agent for various firms within NSW. Sarah has always lived in the Wollongong area.
